Airasia adopts Workday HCM for its digital transformation
As part of its digital transformation, AirAsia has recently partnered with Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) a provider of cloud-based human resources and financial software, to improve workforce management globally.
AirAsia operates flights to more than 140 destinations spanning 22 markets. The company has been transforming all areas of its business to help increase efficiency, strengthen customer focus and pursue its plans for growth. As part of its digital transformation journey, it has rolled out Workday’s cloud technology for HCM to its 22,000+ Allstars (employees) globally.
Varun Bhatia, Chief People and Culture Officer, AirAsia said: “AirAsia's digital transformation encompasses our people and culture as much as it does our business model. In doing so, we have looked closely at each stage of our Allstars’ career to see how best to leverage technology and use data.” He added that “Workday met our criteria for an enterprise-level, integrated and cloud-based mobile HCM platform with strong reporting and analytics. “
The technology will be implemented to manage AirAsia’s employee data including career information, technical skills and training and other employee records. Additionally, AirAsia employees will have self-service capabilities allowing them to build their own career paths. Employees can also check their daily work schedule, manage leave days and track information about their salaries.
Importantly, it will help improve management efficiency and lead to better services for customers.
Workday Asia President Rob Wells also expressed his high hopes for the collaboration.“We are proud to be a partner to AirAsia, one of the most people-centric airlines in the world and a company that shares our vision of digital innovation and empowering people,” Wells said.
“We will be working closely with AirAsia in its journey to transform its employee experience and maintain its position as one of Asia’s largest and leading low-cost airlines.”
The collaboration is part of Workday’s global growth strategy to build a stronger presence in Asia, whilst adopting cloud technology to manage its human capital is part of the Malaysia based airline’s transition into a travel tech company.
